1. Detailed planning

This is the most important thing before you even approach a contractor. Before you hire a contractor have the plan of your project. The designs and other minute details should also be conveyed to the contractor so that he knows what exactly you are planning for your space.

If you do not take him through your plan and just walk him through space is not a good thing to do, he might change his prices later since you had never discussed the details.

They do know about the general layout & structure but have limited information about the finishes, interior designing, lighting & electrical features.

1.Provide a list of specifications

Brief the contractor about the finishes. You need to provide them a list of specifications if you have any. You should always be clear about the final look of the project so as the contractor. Details about the furniture, fixture, accessories, lights, and more should be discussed with the contractor.

The work of the contractor is to monitor the project on behalf of you.

3.Prices

If you are working with an architect or a designer you will be having the complete plan and structure of the project, and the contractor will have to only monitor & make sure the completion of the project is on-time so ask the contractor to set reasonable prices. Compare the prices that different contractors are offering and choose the best among all.

4.Past projects

Before you hire a contractor make sure you are aware of his past projects. It is always better to ask your friends & family to recommend a contractor for you.

In many cases, people do not research the past projects of the contractor and hire them and end up with unsatisfied work.
